Heritage Home Files for Bankruptcy Heritage Home Group, a furniture retailer and wholesaler, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after weathering declining sales over the years. The group, which owns the Thomasville & Co. brand, had undergone several rounds of cost cutting in the past, but experienced a 27% decline in sales year over year for the first five months of 2018. United Natural Foods Agrees to Acquire SuperValu United Natural Foods (UNFI), a natural and organic foods distributor, has agreed to acquire grocery retailer SuperValu in a deal worth $2.9 billion including debt. The deal will see UNFI broaden its range and extend its reach, according to a statement from UNFI CEO Steve Spinner.

Wyevale Sells Eight Garden Centers to Blue Diamond Wyevale, the UK’s largest garden center chain, came to an agreement with Blue Diamond, the UK’s third-largest garden center chain, to complete the sale of eight garden centers to the latter. Terra Firma, Wyevale’s parent company, had previously appointed property advisors Christie & Co in May to supervise the sale of its 145 garden centers. Blue Diamond plans to invest £16 million towards remodelling these centers across the next three years.
