Five Below Opens More than 30 New Stores in the First Quarter Five Below opened more than 30 new stores in its fiscal first quarter. The discount store retailer expects the new store openings to buttress its net sales for its first quarter of 2018 to be in the range of $290–$294 million, assuming a 3%–4% increase in comparable sales.

Sears Partners with Amazon to Sell and Install Tires Sears announced that it will be partnering with Amazon to sell and install its DieHard branded tires as well as other brands at Sears Auto Centers. Customers will be able to purchase Sears’ branded DieHard tires on Amazon and use the Ship to Store function that is now integrated into Amazon’s checkout process by selecting tires, the Sears Auto Center location and the preferred date and time for installation. The selected auto center will then follow up and confirm the date and time of the appointment. There are 2,100 Sears Auto Centers to choose from and a “standard installation fee” will be applied. Sears will continue to build omnichannel capabilities that link its store base with various online selling channels.
