Groceryshop is the leading event for grocery and CPG innovation, looking at disruptive trends, technologies and business models, and the 20 companies presenting on the afternoon of Sunday, September 15 represent innovators offering some of the most exciting solutions to some of the biggest challenges retailers face keeping up with fast-changing consumer preferences – and expectations. In this series, we will present profiles of the companies presenting at Groceryshop, counting down from now until the event. In this report we look at Adrich and Datasembly.   Adrich at a Glance Founded in 2015, Adrich provides a smart usage tracker and a post-purchase engagement platform. The company leverages machine learning and draws information from a tracker placed on products inside the label. Its proprietary labels deliver product use insights after a consumer has purchased an item and taken it home. Post-purchase behavior is notoriously difficult to track – but can be a goldmine of information. How often does the consumer use the product and at what time? How long does it take the consumer to finish the product after purchasing? These important insights can inform design and creation of new products and management of existing ones. Headquarters Pittsburgh. Funding Stage Seed. Management Team Adhithi Aji, Founder and CEO. Company Outlook In February 2019, Adrich received undisclosed seed funding from the Sony Innovation Fund. In July 2019, Aldrich’s Smart Lable products launched in Paris.     Datasembly  at a Glance Founded in 2014, Datasembly provides store-level detailed price intelligence in the US. The company built a comprehensive database of real-time SKU-level pricing data from tens of thousands of individual stores and zip codes across the US. Its solution gives clients access to detailed competitive and historical price analyses, including promotions, without needing complex queries. Brands and retailers want to set the price right, at the right time and place – but the data to help inform these decisions comes in piles of disparate public sources of raw numbers. What retailers really need is high-quality, organized structured data that is easier to understand. Datasembly solves this problem by collecting and collating pricing data and delivering it in an organized, easily accessible format. Headquarters Washington, DC Funding Stage Seed. Management Team Ben Reich, Cofounder and CEO. Daniel Gallagher, Cofounder and CTO. Company Outlook The company raised $1.5 million seed round in August 2018.
