The Coresight Research team attended CES (formerly the Consumer Electronics Show), hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in Las Vegas from January 5 to 7, 2022.
CES 2022 involved an exclusive exhibit for innovative startups to display their cutting-edge technology and solutions, held on January 5 and hosted by Showstoppers, a global leader in producing press and business events and an official partner of the CTA. In this report, we present 10 innovative solutions from technology startups at the exhibit.

The company’s voice translator translates utterances into any of over 70 languages, facilitating communication between people who speak different languages. The voice translator will audibly repeat a spoken sentence in the target language, as well as display a written translation on its screen. Yubico uses an authentication technology to protect access to computers, networks and online services. Once plugged into a computer, the YubiKey provides phishing defense using multi-protocol capabilities. The YubiKey also provides a range of authentication choices, including multi-factor and seamless touch-to-sign in options, and works with Windows, Mac, Gmail, Dropbox, Facebook, Salesforce and many more services. Fairy Devices’ LINKLET Wearable Camera Fairy Devices’ LINKLET camera, which received a CES 2022 Wearable Technologies award, enables first-person viewpoint video through its wearable wide-angle camera. The user wears the LINKLET around their neck, with the camera facing outwards to provide video for viewers from a first-person viewpoint. Instead of an additional solar panel, the Timberline Solar roofing system is made up of shingles and integrates into the roof. The Timberline Solar system allows homeowners to create clean, renewable energy, and helps them save on their energy costs. Furthermore, looks matter, and GAF’s Timberline Solar Roofing system is one way for homeowners to implement solar energy into their households less obtrusively, maintaining the curb appeal of their properties. Aktiia’s Automated 24/7 Blood Pressure Monitor Aktiia is harnessing the power of data to inform and engage people with hypertension while also enabling physicians to deliver accurate and timely care. Aktiia’s fully automated 24/7 optical blood pressure monitor is the world’s first such tool. The blood pressure monitor is worn like a bracelet around the user’s wrist and provides real-time data by using optical sensors and a software algorithm to measure the user’s blood pressure. The user is then able to easily and quickly provide summary data to their doctor, enabling physicians to provide targeted and accurate care. Source: Coresight Research [/caption] 7. LiLZ Gauge Japanese startup LiLZ showcased the LiLZ Gauge, which, which automates daily visual inspections using a cloud service. Once set up, the LiLZ gauge uses artificial intelligence to predict measurement values from captured images in real time. The technology provides an innovative solution for physical gauges that may be difficult or time-consuming to reach, or could place workers in danger. SmartWitness ADP1 Automated Driver’s Assistance Camera SmartWitness, a startup that was recently acquired by Sensata Technologies, displayed its ADP1 camera, a sleek and thoughtfully designed solution providing a 128-degree forward-facing view of the road. The ADP1 camera is focused on safety-critical functions of driving such as speeding, forward proximity and lane departure. The SmartWitness camera also provides adjustable-sensitivity audible alerts to the driver while recording the audio in the cockpit of the vehicle. Source: Coresight Research [/caption] 9. Nanotech Energy’s Graphene-Organolyte Battery Nanotech Energy’s graphene-organolyte battery is the world’s first non-flammable battery pack. The battery pack can be used to power electric vehicles, bikes, scooters, military equipment and consumer electronics. The battery utilizes graphene, an excellent conductor of electricity to provide an effective solution to overheating during battery charging, creating a safer and more sustainable battery. Furthermore, the large surface area associated with a small amount of graphene allows it to store larger amounts of energy, making for a longer-lasting battery. 10. Picoo’s Outdoor Gaming Console For Children Educational software company Picoo prioritized kids’ fitness at CES 2022 by introducing an outdoor gaming console. Pico’s starter kit comes with four remotes—although they also offer an “educational kit” with twelve remotes. The outdoor gaming system does not require an online connection; the remotes interact with other each other through radio networking and use sound, vibration and motion to simulate actions. Pico allows users to play games such as Whack-a-Mole and Hide and Seek, and creates an inclusive game environment by scaling the game difficulty based on a player’s detected proficiency. 1. Orbisk’s Orbi Trash Can Orbisk is a food-waste management startup that helps restaurants manage their waste. The company’s smart trash can, called Orbi, enables restaurants to record what kind of food is thrown away, in what quantity, and at what time of day. When a user approaches Orbi, they present their food in front of an LED light for Orbi to capture an image of what food is being disposed. Upon disposal into the trash can, Orbi will weigh the quantity of food. Restaurants have access to and can track this data to maximize savings and become more sustainable.
