Amazon Prime Day 2019 started at midnight (local time) July 15 in the UK and other European markets. The promotion runs for 48 hours until midnight (local time) at the end of the following day, July 16.
In Europe, Amazon Prime Day deals were offered to shoppers in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and Austria. The Netherlands and Luxembourg joined Amazon Prime Day for the first time just last year.

Promotions offered this year included Spotlight Deals (for major brands and popular products such as Garmin wearables), Lightning Deals (flash sales on limited-quantity items for a limited time), Prime Day Launches (new and limited-edition items such as beauty products from Haus Laboratories) and other savings and sales.

As in previous years, Amazon’s homepage focused on promoting the company’s own electronics, such as Echo devices. Prices for some items, including Echo Dot, were cut more than 50%. Products from companies owned by Amazon, such as Ring’s Video Doorbell and Stick Up Cam, also enjoyed visibility during Prime Day. Amazon acquired smart home device manufacturer Ring in February 2018.
Third-party brands featured extensively among Spotlight Deals and Lightning Deals, with products including VR headset Oculus GO and Samsung smartwatch Galaxy Watch Active, as shown below from the Amazon France portal.

We noticed that Amazon’s own apparel brands had less visibility on the UK site than during previous Prime Days. Apparel is Amazon’s largest private-label category. Multicategory brand AmazonBasics, with home and kitchen and luggage and travel products, along with private-label household products brand Presto! and diapers brand Mama Bear, appeared to have more visibility than Amazon’s apparel when searching for deals in Amazon Brands.
