Amazon has announced the timing of its annual Prime Day, which this year will offer deals across two days starting July 15, just after midnight Pacific Time. In 2018, Prime Day lasted 36 hours. The deals will be accessible in 18 countries.
Jeff Wilke, Amazon CEO Worldwide Consumer, said Amazon’s vision is to let Prime Day “be the absolute best time for consumers to enjoy shopping, savings, entertainment and some of the best deals Prime members have ever seen.”

More than one million deals will be available worldwide, equal to last year. Prime Day will also be in physical stores, with “deep discounts” on selected products at Whole Foods Market. And, Whole Foods will offer an extra 10% off the prices of “hundreds” of products. Special offers will also be available at Amazon Books and Amazon 4-Star locations.
This Prime Day, Amazon is allowing members to shop from US-based innovators, artisans and entrepreneurs. Last Prime Day, small and medium-sized businesses selling in Amazon’s online stores surpassed $1.5 billion in sales.
Amazon continues to reveal collaborations with actors, musicians, athletes and top brands. For instance, Nickelodeon will launch 24 new JoJo Siwa products to Prime members only. Levi’s has teamed up with Pro Football Player Sterling Shepard and model Chanel Iman Shepard to customize jeans. Amazon Fashion is also working with Hanna Anderson to create organic cotton products for babies and toddlers.
Last year, more customers signed up for Prime membership during the first day of Prime Day than on any previous day in Amazon history, as explained in Coresight Research’s
Amazon Prime Day 2018 Wrap-Up. Generating new Prime membership subscriptions is a major objective of Prime Day. Amazon Prime now has approximately 101 million subscribers in the US.
