Alibaba and JD.com Battle it Out for Dominance of China’s Online Luxury Market

Alibaba and JD.com have operated app-only luxury channels since 2017: Tmall Luxury Pavilion and Toplife, respectively. Both channels have enlisted over 100 brands to sell their wares so far. We found that Tmall Luxury Pavilion features products such as high-end formal wear, fine wine and luxury sports cars while Toplife sells products such as premium casual wear and high-end home appliances.
