In May 2019, property developer Hammerson unveiled plans to overhaul the city’s O’Connell Street and Moore Street to include an open-air shopping area, two public squares, offices, a hotel and a residential development. Although the city has undergone modernization, it has a strong sense of history with preserved historic sites.
