Retailers and brands are increasingly incorporating sustainability within their core business strategy, not just in response to compliance mandates from regulators, but even more so to capture and engage a rapidly growing consumer base that is increasingly making purchasing decisions in alignment with their values on social and environmental responsibility.
According to research done by IBM and the National Retail Federation, 8 out of 10 consumers say that sustainability is very important to them, and of those 70% are willing to pay a premium of 35% for products that are sustainable. As consumers demand to know more about the products they buy, retailers and brands are looking at technologies, such as blockchain, which enable data sharing and collaboration across the supply chain and deliver the trust and transparency demanded by consumers.
Deborah Weinswig, CEO and Founder of Coresight Research and IBM's Shari Diaz, Innovation, Strategy and Operations Director at IBM Food Trust along with Kevin Reese, AI Applications N.A. Sales Leader of Consumer and Travel markets will lead a discussion on:
- The unprecedented opportunities that blockchain can create for supply chains, particularly surrounding sustainability and transparency.
- How blockchain and the Food Trust can help grocers transform their business
- The most innovative use cases of blockchain for sustainability in the food industry
